DESCRIPTION
Preparation - This comprises abrading the substrate, cleaning
with a pre-paint solution to remove any residual dirt, grime,
and grease from the surface, followed by careful masking of
the surfaces to be sprayed.
Paints
- Only
specialist, high performance, 2 pack paints are used, giving
high levels of durability, adhesion , longevity and resistance
to colour fade.
Application - Abbey Coatings utilises appropriate methods
of application. There are two:
(i) High volume low pressure guns which give a superior
transference rate of paint to the substrate with a minimal amount
of overspray.
(ii) Electrostatic guns, which are used in specific instances
where conventional spraying would be impractical - eg. staircase
rails, wire meshscreens, railing and open shutters. With this
apparatus, the substrate is earthed and the paint is charged
so that it is attracted to the substrate and will wrap itself
around the pieces being sprayed. Overspray is reduced to a minute
amount.
